Business Development Manager
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a facilities management company providing cleaning, security, maintenance, and workplace support services.
As a Business Development Manager, you will generate new FM opportunities, develop client relationships, and lead the sales process through to successful contract award.
This is a full-time, hybrid/field-based role in London offering a salary of up to £70,000, plus new-business commission of up to £100,000 per qualifying contract and benefits.
You Will Be Responsible For
- Generating and converting new Facilities Management opportunities.
- Building a self-sourced pipeline through networking, referrals, direct approaches, market research, telephone prospecting, and digital activity.
- Identifying target organisations and key contacts across Facilities, Estates, Property, Procurement, and Operations.
- Developing relationships with senior decision-makers and understanding their service requirements.
- Qualifying opportunities and managing complex sales cycles through to completion.
- Working with Bid, Commercial, and Operational teams to develop tailored solutions.
- Supporting PQQ/SQ, ITT, RFI, and RFP processes, including tender submissions and pricing.
- Preparing and delivering presentations, tender interviews, and commercial proposals.
- Contributing to costing and pricing, with consideration for margins, commercial risk, and contract viability.
- Supporting negotiations around pricing and contractual terms.
- Taking ownership of new business targets and maintaining an accurate sales pipeline.
- Keeping CRM records, forecasts, opportunity stages, and anticipated decision dates up to date.
- Working closely with Operations, Commercial, Finance, and HR teams to secure new contracts.

What We Are Looking For
- Business Development experience within the Facilities Management sector.
- Experience in selling cleaning, soft services, and/or wider FM solutions, with knowledge of tendering, pricing, and commercial proposals.
- Background in handling formal procurement and tender processes, including PQQs/SQs, ITTs, RFPs, and RFIs.
- Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- A track record of personally generating new business opportunities and building a sales pipeline.
- Commercial understanding covering pricing, margins, risk, and contract viability.
- Evidence of successfully converting opportunities into FM contract wins.
- Knowledge of the FM sales lifecycle.
- Strong Microsoft Office and general digital skills.
- Valid UK driving licence.

Shift
- 40 hours per week
- Monday - Friday
