Roofbase is a fast-growing network of specialist roofing merchant branches with a strong reputation for delivering excellent customer service. We stock a comprehensive range of roofing materials for projects of all sizes, from garden shed roofs and home improvements to large commercial developments.
Our focus is simple – provide expert advice, quality products and outstanding service to every customer.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Business Development Manager to join our team.
This is a field-based role focused on building strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and developing new business opportunities. Working closely with our branches and experienced sales team, you will help drive sales growth across the region and ensure customers receive the highest level of service and support.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with roofing contractors, builders and trade customers.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within South Wales & The South West
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts.
- Regularly visit customers on-site and at their premises.
- Promote Roofbase products, services and special offers.
- Prepare and follow up quotations and sales opportunities.
- Work closely with branch teams to maximise sales and customer service.
- Monitor local market activity and competitor movements.
- Resolve customer enquiries and issues promptly and professionally.
- Achieve agreed sales and margin targets.

- South Wales & South West
Hours
- Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm
Salary
- Competitive, depending on experience

What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a sales, account management or business development role.
- Experience within roofing, construction, builders’ merchants or building materials is essential.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- A proactive approach to winning and developing business.
- Good IT skills and experience using CRM systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
