Role Overview
Espresso Solutions is looking for a Business Development Manager to join the team and drive growth across UK hospitality businesses, ideally based in or around the Birmingham / Leeds / Manchester Triangle.
From coffee roasters to hotel groups, restaurant chains to independent operators, through to the engineers and technicians who service them. We are looking for someone who will drive growth and opportunities via the products and services that we pride ourselves on.
This is a hands on, technically literate sales role, for someone who already knows coffee equipment; machines, grinders, water treatment and the parts that keep a business running. This would suit someone who loves being out and physically engaging with prospects, as opposed to an office based role.
You will own and grow relationships across the full spectrum of our customer base, including the nurturing of our existing customer relationships, as well as bringing new prospects on board. You will be the face of Espresso Solutions in the field and be someone our customers can trust to advise them, not just sell to them.

- Identify and convert new business opportunities across the UK, building a healthy and well qualified pipeline.

- Work with Management to prepare accurate quotations and proposals covering machines, parts, consumables and water treatment solutions.
- Meet and exceed agreed sales targets, managing your own diary and territory, with a high degree of autonomy.
- Feed back market intelligence, competitor activity, pricing, customer needs to support wider business strategy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
