Business Development Manager - Freight Forwarding

Location: Folkestone

Salary: Negotiable DOE

Our client specialize in international freight forwarding and logistics, providing road, sea, air, customs, warehousing, and courier solutions.

They are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their commercial team, with a primary focus on developing new European road freight business while identifying opportunities across their wider service offering.

Job Overview

  • Develop new business across road, sea, air, and courier freight, as well as customs and warehousing services
  • Identify and convert new customers and profitable business opportunities
  • Support the operations team with account management to deliver a tailored service to customers
  • Build and develop relationships with new and existing customers
  • Ensure profitable margins are achieved across customer accounts
  • Travel to meet with prospective and existing customers

Requirements

  • Previous sales experience within a freight forwarding or logistics business is essential
  • Proven experience selling road, sea, or air freight services
  • European road freight experience would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of transport and worldwide logistics
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships both over the phone and face-to-face
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
