About the Role

On behalf of our logistics solutions client, we are looking to appoint an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join their growing team focusing on selling import sea freight services.

What You'll Do

A typical day will involve proactively seeking opportunities for further growth through new and retained business. You will engage with potential clients, hold in-person meetings, phone calls, and networking events. Acting as an ambassador for the business both in your interaction with customers and prospective customers.

  • Identify and secure new business.
  • Promote our import sea freight services to prospective clients.
  • Engage with potential clients via in-person meetings, phone calls, and networking events.
  • Develop tailored presentations and proposals for clients.
  • Manage your own sales appointments and maintain a structured schedule.
  • Attend sales meetings and provide regular sales performance reports.
  • Create visit reports using the company CRM system.
  • Achieve key performance indicators relating to profit generation, sales activity, and client visits.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction.

What You Need

We're keen to speak to sales professionals with 3+ years of experience within the forwarding/logistics sector, specifically with a track record selling import FCL services.

  • Strong knowledge of transport and worldwide logistics.
  • A proactive, strategic approach to business development.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK as needed.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and phone skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive results.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
