We are seeking an experienced Business Development professional to support the development and execution of strategic BD initiatives that drive profitable growth across the Funds & Asset Management practice.
Working closely with partners, lawyers, Client & Sector teams and the wider Business Development & Marketing function, you will play a key role in identifying new opportunities, strengthening client relationships, supporting cross-selling activity and developing targeted go-to-market strategies. The role will combine strategic business development, market intelligence, client targeting, pitch management and data-led opportunity identification, ensuring Funds & Asset Management activity is aligned with the firm's wider growth strategy and sector priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and delivery of Funds & Asset Management BD strategies and growth plans.
- Identify new business opportunities through market intelligence, client insight, data analysis and horizon scanning.
- Develop and manage client targeting strategies, identifying priority clients, sectors and markets.
- Work with Client & Sector BD teams to identify and maximise cross-selling opportunities.
- Develop targeted go-to-market campaigns to raise the profile of the Funds & Asset Management practice.
- Provide strategic input into pitches, tenders, panel submissions and client proposals.
- Build strong relationships with partners, lawyers, clients and global BD teams.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and client developments to identify commercial opportunities.
- Manage and maintain BD pipelines, client trackers and CRM data, providing actionable insights to senior stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with Marketing, Communications, Events and Research teams to deliver integrated BD campaigns.
- Leverage global BD resources, technology and data tools to improve business development effectiveness.
- Support continuous improvement of BD processes, reporting and client development activity.

Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in Business Development within a professional services environment, ideally a law firm.
- Experience supporting Funds & Asset Management, Investment Management or Financial Services practices is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the funds and asset management market and wider financial services landscape.
- Proven experience developing and implementing BD strategies and client growth plans.
- Experience supporting pitches, tenders, panel submissions and client targeting.
- Strong relationship-building skills with partners, lawyers, clients and senior stakeholders.
- Experience working with global or international teams.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify revenue-generating opportunities.
- Excellent analytical skills and experience using CRM, data and market intelligence to support BD activity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and BD technology platforms.

Qualifications
- Degree educated in Marketing, Business, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
- Professional marketing or business development qualifications would be advantageous.
- Additional qualifications within Financial Services, Asset Management or Business Development would be desirable.
