Company: Summit Hygiene
Reports to: Harvey Stedman, Sales & Marketing Manager
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 - dependent on experience, plus commission
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
Start Date: Latest 1st November
Work Location: Field-based across London and Greater London, with time at our Leighton Buzzard office as required. Minimal requirement to travel nationwide.

Company Overview

Summit Hygiene is a leading provider of professional cleaning & hygiene solutions, helping businesses maintain clean, safe, and compliant environments. We work across multiple sectors and pride ourselves on quality service, strong relationships, and consistent growth.

Role Overview

We are looking for a driven, resilient Regional Business Development Manager to win new accounts across our focused London and Greater London areas.

This is a pure new-business role. You will pick up appointments booked by your dedicated Business Development Executive (BDE) at presentation stage and drive them through pricing, trials, surveys and account opening to first order. You will also self-generate appointments and carry out drop-ins and canvassing across your territory to keep your own pipeline moving.

Once an account is live and trading, you hand it to the Account Management team and move on to the next opportunity.

(This role does not involve managing or growing existing accounts — you will not be given a book to farm, and everything you win is handed over once it is trading.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Convert BDE-booked appointments into presentations, trials, surveys and trading accounts.
  • Self-generate appointments and opportunities alongside your BDE's activity, including cold calls and decision-maker conversations where needed.
  • Complete daily drop-ins and canvassing across your territory.
  • Take ownership of the deal from presentation through pricing, tender or framework requirements, product trials and site surveys, to account opening and first order.
  • Deliver a professional, consultative presentation of the Summit Hygiene range and service proposition, tailored to the site in front of you.
  • Understand education buying cycles, budget timings, framework agreements and MAT/central procurement routes, and plan your pipeline around them.
  • Hand over won accounts cleanly to Account Management, with the customer properly introduced and all commercial detail documented.
  • Keep the CRM accurate and current — activity, pipeline, next actions and forecast.
  • Feed back what you are hearing in the market on competitors, pricing and product requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • A demonstrable track record of winning new business — accounts you personally opened, with the numbers to back it up.
  • Genuinely hungry for the next win, and comfortable being measured on activity as well as results.
  • Happy to hand won accounts to someone else and move on to the next opportunity.
  • Strong presentation skills and the confidence to sell to procurement, estates, facilities and bursar-level contacts.
  • Resilient and self-managing — this role lives or dies on the discipline of working a territory every day without supervision.
  • Organised enough to run a live pipeline, work with a BDE and keep a CRM straight.
