Business Development Manager Ground Shoring
Job Title: Business Development Manager Ground Shoring
Industry Sector: Ground Shoring, Main Contractors, Tier One Contractors, Tier Two Contractors, Major Contractors, Construction, Civil Engineering, Formwork and Falsework, Groundworking, Trench Boxes, Manhole Boxes, Manhole Braces, Pipe Lifter, Struts & Walers, Trench Lining and Tube Shoring Products
Area to be covered: North & Midlands
Remuneration: £55,000-£60,000 + guaranteed commission (circa £500-£1,000 per month)
Benefits: Hybrid Car or EV Car allowance of £680 per month + full benefits package
Role Overview
The role of the Business Development Manager Ground Shoring will involve:
- Field sales position heading up all major groundshoring projects in the Midlands/ North
- Acting as the product champion whilst supporting a team of groundshoring area sales managers (circa 5-7) handing over projects to them once they become more transactional
- Focus on selling into and managing key relationships within the tier one and tier two main contractors
- Selling predominantly the hire (but also the sale) of ground shoring products including: trench boxes, manhole boxes, manhole braces, pipe lifter, struts & walers, trench lining and tube shoring products
- Responsible for a North & Midlands territory with a turnover of circa £3m
- Responsible for awareness training for customers
- Preparing sales forecasts, pipelines and performance reports
- Leading and coaching junior business development or field sales team members, where applicable
- Targeting large project sizes via relationships within tier one and tier two main contractors

Ideal Candidate
The ideal applicant will be a Business Development Manager Ground Shoring with:
- Must have a proven field sales track record of winning projects with the tier One and tier Two main contractors
- Preferably with ground shoring, temporary works or civil engineering field sales experience
- Commercial success in a similar role
- Organised, self-aware, constantly following up on leads and planning ahead
- Driven with excellent commitment to succeed
- Open to technical groundshoring backgrounds, engineering, operational etc.
- Open to hire or sales industry field sales experience
- Construction site experience
- Specific knowledge of trench boxes, manhole boxes, manhole braces, pipe lifter, struts & walers, trench lining and tube shoring products is not essential
