Business Development Manager – North of England
Territory: North of England
Role: Field-based
Package: £40,000-£50,000 (dependent on experience) plus bonus

Do you enjoy knocking on doors, starting conversations and turning cold prospects into long-term customers?
We’re recruiting for an established packaging business looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to develop new accounts across the North of England.
This is not a role focused on managing an existing customer base. You’ll be expected to build your own pipeline, identify opportunities and win new business through a combination of face-to-face prospecting, networking, referrals, and targeted outreach.
What you’ll be doing
- Identifying and targeting potential customers across the North of England
- Getting out into the market and meeting prospects face to face
- Generating leads and building a strong new-business pipeline
- Understanding customers’ requirements and presenting suitable solutions
- Managing opportunities from the initial conversation through to close
- Developing strong relationships with key decision-makers
- Working closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth customer experience
- Representing the business at relevant events and networking opportunities

What we’re looking for
Packaging industry experience would be useful, but it is not essential.
We’re more interested in your ability to open doors, create opportunities, and win new business.
You may currently sell products or services into manufacturers, food and beverage businesses, hospitality groups, retailers, or other commercial customers.

You should be:
- A proven B2B salesperson with a strong new-business mentality
- Comfortable prospecting and approaching businesses from cold
- Confident arranging and conducting face-to-face meetings
- Self-motivated, resilient, and commercially driven
- Able to manage a large geographical territory effectively
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a wider team
- Based in the North of England and willing to travel throughout the territory
- In possession of a full UK driving licence
