Do you want to be part of creating a safer world?
You meet Gunnebo in everyday life — at home, in transit and at work. We are present at airports, offices, public spaces, retail environments and transport hubs. Through smart entrance control and safe storage solutions, we help customers create safer, more efficient environments.
If you are looking to make a visible commercial impact within a global, supportive and forward-thinking organisation, this is an opportunity to take ownership of a strategically important territory. Gunnebo is small enough for your contribution to be recognised and large enough to offer significant scope for influence and career progression.
About the role
Reporting to the UK Head of Sales, you will lead business development across the Midlands and North UK territory. You will take ownership of the regional growth plan, identify and qualify strategic opportunities, and manage complex sales conversations from initial engagement through to successful conclusion.
The role will suit a commercially astute and proactive professional who is credible with customers, contractors, consultants and partners. You will build and manage a strong pipeline, develop account and territory plans, coordinate internal resources and lead opportunities through the full sales cycle.
You will work closely with technical, projects, service and commercial colleagues to develop compelling solutions and proposals. Direct experience in Entrance Control is not essential, but a strong track record in business development within construction, security, facilities management, building products or a related solution-led environment would be advantageous.
What you will do
- Develop and execute a focused business development strategy for the Midlands and North UK, identifying priority sectors, customers, projects and influencers.
- Own the territory prospect base, sales pipeline, forecasting and territory plan, with clear priorities and measurable actions.
- Qualify inbound and self-generated opportunities against commercial, technical and strategic criteria.
- Lead customer meetings, site discussions and commercial presentations, involving technical specialists where required.
- Translate customer security, operational and budget requirements into clear solution strategies and value propositions.
- Coordinate professional proposals, presentations and commercial submissions, ensuring quality and alignment with customer needs.
- Build trusted relationships with new and existing clients, identifying cross-selling, upgrade and long-term partnership opportunities.
- Maintain disciplined CRM, pipeline and forecasting information to support accurate commercial planning and management decisions.
- Monitor territory projects, market trends and competitor activity, using insight to refine priorities and strengthen positioning.
- Provide clear commercial updates, escalate risks early and recommend actions to maintain momentum and improve win probability.
- Represent Gunnebo at trade shows, industry events, partner meetings and customer visits.
- Travel regularly across the Midlands and North UK to develop relationships, progress opportunities and support strategic accounts.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
