Engage Talent Partners are working exclusively with our client who operates within the oil and gas, subsea, renewables, and industrial sectors to recruit a proactive, motivated, and experienced Business Development Manager to join their team based in Aberdeen.
You will be responsible for identifying and pursuing business growth opportunities, building strong relationships with customers, and negotiating revenue opportunities across the Scotland region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a business plan and sales strategy working with the General Manager.
- Prospect for new clients.
- Identify potential clients and the decision-makers within the client company.
- Carry out regular customer meetings/presentations/lunches with a view to presenting products and services.
- Work with the team to develop proposals that meet the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
- Consult with management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
- Work closely with manufacturers to initiate relations and to arrange joint visits.
- Maintain CRM system to ensure all progress is tracked.
- Attend industry functions such as events, conferences, and provide feedback and information on market trends.
- Identify opportunities for marketing campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to increased sales.
- Promote new products and services to enhance existing relationships.
- Work with internal team to meet customer needs by providing customer with on-time quotes, entering sales orders in the system, and providing excellent customer service both internally & externally.
- Support team with joint visits as and when required.
- Look for opportunities to maximize sales by negotiating with suppliers/manufacturers to facilitate improved terms.

To be successful in this role, you will have previous business development or technical sales experience within the oil & gas, subsea, renewables, or industrial sectors. You will be a proactive and self-motivated individual with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, a structured and organized approach, and a proven ability to develop business opportunities and deliver against sales targets. You'll be comfortable networking, attending exhibitions, and engaging with customers at all levels, with the confidence to open new doors and build long-term partnerships.
