About The Role
What will I be Doing?
This is a genuine new-business development role where proactively creating and developing your own opportunities will be a key part of your success.
- You’ll be expected to build and maintain a strong pipeline across your region by identifying, engaging and developing the right prospective customers for SUEZ.
- You will take ownership of new-business growth in the Yorkshire regions, focusing on industrial and commercial organisations that are the right strategic fit for SUEZ and our operations in the region.
- You’ll build SUEZ’s presence in the market and develop relationships with key decision-makers that translate into sustainable, profitable growth.
Our services and capabilities give you a strong proposition to take to market.
- Your role is to understand the challenges and ambitions of prospective customers, identify where SUEZ can add real value and turn those conversations into compelling solutions and long-term partnerships.
- You’ll target significant regional opportunities, including large single-site operations, while also having the commercial awareness to recognise when a regional relationship could unlock a larger multi-site or multi-region opportunity across the UK.
- Alongside the opportunities you create yourself, you’ll take ownership of strategically important bids and tenders allocated through the business. From initial qualification and customer engagement through to proposals, presentations, tender submissions, negotiations and contract award, you will lead the commercial opportunity with support from our Bid, Operational and wider specialist teams.
- Once a contract is secured, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider business to ensure it is mobilised successfully, providing the customer with a positive experience and ensuring we deliver the service, commitments and innovations set out during the sales process.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Self-generation will be a key measure of success in the role, alongside your ability to lead and convert strategically important bids and tenders allocated through the business.
