About the Role
A growing SaaS and ERP technology business is looking for a Business Development Manager to join its sales team in London. The role will focus on driving new business growth for a specialist cloud-based software solution, targeting end-user organisations across the Sage X3 market. You will be responsible for identifying and winning new customers, managing the full sales cycle and developing existing customer relationships to support renewals and account growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced B2B software, SaaS, ERP or technology sales professional looking to join a growing organisation and take ownership of a specialist market.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities across the Sage X3 installed base.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified new logo opportunities.
- Conduct outbound prospecting through telephone, email, LinkedIn, networking and industry events.
- Qualify inbound and outbound opportunities based on customer need, budget, authority and timescales.
- Conduct discovery calls and meetings with prospective customers to understand their business challenges and requirements.
- Deliver tailored software demonstrations to prospective customers.
- Develop commercial proposals and business cases that clearly demonstrate the value and ROI of the solution.
- Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial qualification through to negotiation and contract signature.
- Work closely with internal teams around commercial terms, implementation requirements and legal processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date pipeline information within the CRM system.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and updates on active opportunities.
- Manage a portfolio of existing customers, supporting renewals and identifying opportunities for account growth.
- Conduct regular customer reviews to understand satisfaction, usage and future requirements.
- Identify opportunities to upsell additional modules, licences and solutions.
- Work closely with Marketing to follow up on qualified leads and provide feedback on market activity and customer objections.
- Monitor competitor activity and developments across the Sage X3 and wider SaaS market.
- Achieve agreed new business and Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) targets.

Required Experience
- Proven experience in a B2B Business Development, Account Executive or Software Sales role.
- Experience selling SaaS, software, ERP or technology solutions.
- Demonstrable experience generating new business through outbound prospecting and networking.
- Proven experience managing the full sales cycle, from discovery through to negotiation and closing.
- Experience presenting software or technology solutions to senior stakeholders.
- Experience selling to senior Finance, Operations or Executive-level decision-makers.
- Strong experience managing and maintaining a sales pipeline using a CRM system.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand customer requirements and articulate value.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- A proactive, target-driven and commercially focused approach.
