Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Bradford

Salary: £45,000 - £70,000 per annum basic + uncapped commission

Hours: Full time, Monday - Friday, Hybrid available

Are you an experienced Business Development Manager with a genuine hunter mentality and a proven track record of winning new business?

We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join an established and independent business. The business is open to industry exposure but wants someone who has the mentality and hunger to generate new business.

Once new business has been secured, a dedicated team will manage the day to day customer requirements, allowing you to remain focused on developing new opportunities and winning further business.

This is a highly sales focused position for someone who thrives on generating their own opportunities, building a strong pipeline and personally winning profitable new customers.

Key Responsibilities As Business Development Manager

  • Identify, develop and secure profitable new business
  • Generate your own leads and proactively build and manage a strong sales pipeline
  • Personally take opportunities from initial prospecting through to winning the business
  • Identify new commercial opportunities and potential areas for growth
  • Use your existing network and relationships to identify potential opportunities
  • Conduct meetings with prospective customers and develop a strong understanding of their requirements
  • Develop tailored, solutions led proposals that demonstrate commercial value rather than competing purely on price
  • Negotiate commercial terms and successfully close new business
  • Work closely with internal commercial and operational teams to ensure a smooth transition once business has been won
  • Remain focused on new business generation rather than ongoing account management
  • Work independently and effectively within a predominantly home based environment

Experience Required As a Business Development Manager

  • Proven experience in a Business Development, Sales or Commercial role
  • A demonstrable track record of personally winning new customers
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the sales process
  • Experience generating your own leads and building a pipeline from scratch
  • A genuine new business/hunter mentality, rather than predominantly account management experience
  • Experience working within a B2B environment
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify profitable opportunities
  • A solutions-led approach to sales, with the ability to demonstrate value rather than compete solely on price
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Full UK driving licence
