Charles Street Finance is a secured relationship lender established in 1983, offering tailored financial solutions to a diverse range of customers. The company focuses on understanding client needs and providing bespoke lending options across four core product ranges. These include bridging loans with terms up to 24 months, commercial mortgages and buy-to-let mortgages with terms from 5 to 30 years, and development finance loans with terms up to 24 months. Charles Street Finance is committed to building long-term relationships and supporting customers with flexible, dependable lending services.
Role Description
The Business Development Manager is a full-time, regional based role which involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with brokers, investors, and direct clients, and promoting Charles Street Finance’s lending products. The Business Development Manager will manage the sales pipeline, conduct client meetings, prepare proposals, and negotiate terms that align with company policies and risk appetite. The role also includes collaborating with credit and operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding and customer experience, monitoring market trends and competitor activity, and contributing to strategic initiatives that drive growth in bridging loans, commercial mortgages, buy-to-let mortgages, and development finance.

Qualifications

- Strong business development, sales, and relationship management skills, ideally within lending, mortgages, or financial services.
- Ability to understand and explain secured lending products, including bridging finance, commercial and buy-to-let mortgages, and development finance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with confidence in client-facing and broker-facing environments.
- Proven ability to manage a pipeline, meet targets, and work with CRM or sales management tools.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in reviewing deals and supporting credit assessments.
- Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with internal teams in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
- Prior experience in UK lending or banking and knowledge of the Manchester and wider UK property finance market is highly beneficial.
- Relevant education in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in commercial lending or financial services.
