Business Development Manager - Banking and Finance

Our client is a leading international offshore law firm and professional services group with a strong global footprint across major financial centres. Known for a collaborative, supportive, and commercially focused culture, the firm delivers top-tier legal advice and corporate administration services across the corporate and financial sectors.

They are seeking an experienced, commercially minded Business Development Manager to lead the growth and strategic development of the firm's core Banking and Finance practice across key jurisdictions.

Working closely with the Global BD Lead for Banking & Finance, Partners, Senior Lawyers, and wider marketing teams, you will drive client-led growth plans, elevate market positioning, deepen key client relationships, and identify new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with senior stakeholders to design and execute targeted BD strategies; manage regional BD budgets, track spend, and measure ROI on key initiatives.
  • Targeting & CRM: Build and refine high-value intermediary and client targeting lists; leverage CRM tools to track referrals, monitor pipeline, and inform partner outreach and BD trips.
  • Pitching & Proposals: Lead and draft high-quality pitches, RFPs, credentials, and client presentations tailored to specific financial services opportunities.
  • Events & Conferences: Own the BD strategy for major industry events (e.g., premier fund finance and real estate conferences), managing targeted attendee lists, partner briefings, and post-event follow-up.
  • Directory Submissions: Oversee legal directory submissions (Chambers, Legal 500) for the practice line across key offices to secure strong market rankings.
  • Bank Panel Management: Serve as the primary BD point of contact for bank panel applications, coordinating complex global panel proposals and ongoing relationship maintenance.
  • Market Networking: Actively build relationships with key industry bodies, intermediaries, and networks to enhance the firm's brand and pipeline.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
