Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About you

You'll need to be a proven B2B sales professional with a track record of winning incremental new business with Tier 2 construction companies. Experience selling in the lighting sector or selling technical products, services or solutions into construction would also be of interest to us.

What matters most is that you can demonstrate how you actually win business. You'll need to be someone who:

  • Knows how to plan and execute a new-business strategy
  • Can identify, prospect and qualify genuine opportunities
  • Can get in front of senior commercial and buying decision makers
  • Takes time to understand customer needs, challenges and commercial drivers
  • Can develop compelling value propositions rather than simply pitch products
  • Understands how to protect and defend margin when negotiating
  • Has the commercial instinct to identify blockers, bottlenecks and potential objections
  • Can build relationships and develop opportunities over longer sales cycles
  • Manages their own pipeline, activity and opportunities effectively
  • Most importantly, knows how to win and close new business

We're not looking for someone who simply tells us they've achieved targets. We want to understand how you plan, how you think, how you've created the opportunities and the process you used to qualify and build a value proposition.

The important bit

You'll need to understand what's really going on inside an opportunity. The customer's requirements, their challenges, the commercial drivers, the potential blockers and the decision-making process, and then build a proposition that solves the problem.

If you've already got a network within Tier 2 construction, have experience in lighting or a related technical solution, and can demonstrate a genuine track record of winning new business, apply now or contact us on 01325 313184 for a confidential conversation.
