Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Business Development Manager – Meteorology Western and Southern Europe is responsible for the development of Kipp&Zonen’s sales to distribution partners and strategic accounts in Western and Southern Europe, across all meteorological segments. The position aims to accelerate turnover and profitability growth, while building a robust and perennial business pipeline to support long-term growth. This position is fully remote.

This position is remote and the candidates should be ideally located in Aix-en-Provence, Bilbao ou Sheffield. We're also open to be flexible on location in France, Spain or the UK for the right fit.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Achieve turnover targets and KPIs across assigned accounts, countries and territories, ensuring tracking of sales forecasts and pipeline.
  • Develop distribution partners and target accounts by identifying their growth potential and implementing territory-appropriate strategies.
  • Maintain regular relationships with key decision makers and partners to identify upsell and cross sell opportunities.
  • Drive account performance using KPIs, conduct activity reviews (QBRs) and deploy, if necessary, corrective action plans.
  • Develop new business opportunities via direct and indirect channels, relying on a consultative selling approach.
  • Ensure effective execution of business plans and manage potential interactions or conflicts within the Kipp&Zonen partner network.
  • Follow market developments and industry trends via watch, internal exchanges and participation in professional events.
  • Identify prospects and establish lasting relationships with authorities, engineering offices and other stakeholders influencing purchasing decisions in the field.
  • Negotiate and drive client specific contracts, projects and product developments, in coordination with internal departments (Legal, Finance, R&D, Strategic Marketing, Sales, Service and Customer Support).
  • Analyze competitors’ activities, pricing strategies and market positioning in order to identify competitive advantages and adapt business approach.
  • Participate in business activities: customer visits, phone calls, trade shows, seminars, workshops, product demos and evaluations, customer events and partner management.

The essential requirements of the position are as follows:

  • Highschool Diploma, Bachelor and/or Master in Environmental Engineering preferred
  • 5+ years of sales experience with Channel Partner & Key Accounts in Met business preferred
  • Demonstrated relational and presentation skills, including ability to communicate with people of various technical backgrounds.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the use of a CRM tool for funnel management and forecasting
  • Fluent written and spoken French and English, Spanish is an advantage
  • Ability to travel as required within South and West Europe with a valid driver's license
  • Self-motivated with a customer focused mindset

Rattaché(e) au/à la Sales Manager, le/la Business Development Manager – Météorologie Europe de l’Ouest et du Sud est en charge du développement des ventes de Kipp&Zonen auprès des partenaires de distribution et des comptes stratégiques en Europe de l’Ouest et du Sud, sur l’ensemble des segments météorologiques.

Le poste vise à accélérer la croissance du chiffre d’affaires et de la rentabilité, tout en construisant un pipeline commercial solide et pérenne afin de soutenir le développement à long terme.

Ce poste est en full remote. Les candidat(e)s devront idéalement être basé(e)s à Aix‑en‑Provence, Bilbao ou Sheffield.

Dans ce rôle, une journée type comprendra notamment :

  • Atteindre les objectifs de chiffre d’affaires et les KPI sur les comptes, pays et territoires confiés, en assurant le suivi des prévisions de ventes et du pipeline
  • Développer les partenaires de distribution et les comptes cibles en identifiant leur potentiel de croissance et en mettant en œuvre les stratégies adaptées au territoire
  • Entretenir des relations régulières avec les décideurs clés et les partenaires afin d’identifier des opportunités d’upsell et de cross‑sell
  • Piloter la performance des comptes à l’aide des KPI, conduire les revues d’activité (QBR) et déployer, si nécessaire, des plans d’actions correctifs
  • Développer de nouvelles opportunités commerciales via des canaux directs et indirects, en s’appuyant sur une approche de vente consultative
  • Assurer une exécution efficace des plans commerciaux et gérer les éventuelles interactions ou conflits au sein du réseau de partenaires Kipp&Zonen
  • Suivre les évolutions du marché et les tendances du secteur via la veille, les échanges internes et la participation à des événements professionnels
  • Identifier des prospects et établir des relations durables avec les autorités, bureaux d’ingénierie et autres acteurs influençant les décisions d’achat sur le territoire
