Role Overview
Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Business Development Manager – Meteorology Western and Southern Europe is responsible for the development of Kipp&Zonen’s sales to distribution partners and strategic accounts in Western and Southern Europe, across all meteorological segments. The position aims to accelerate turnover and profitability growth, while building a robust and perennial business pipeline to support long-term growth. This position is fully remote.

This position is remote and the candidates should be ideally located in Aix-en-Provence, Bilbao ou Sheffield. We're also open to be flexible on location in France, Spain or the UK for the right fit.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Achieve turnover targets and KPIs across assigned accounts, countries and territories, ensuring tracking of sales forecasts and pipeline.
- Develop distribution partners and target accounts by identifying their growth potential and implementing territory-appropriate strategies.
- Maintain regular relationships with key decision makers and partners to identify upsell and cross sell opportunities.
- Drive account performance using KPIs, conduct activity reviews (QBRs) and deploy, if necessary, corrective action plans.
- Develop new business opportunities via direct and indirect channels, relying on a consultative selling approach.
- Ensure effective execution of business plans and manage potential interactions or conflicts within the Kipp&Zonen partner network.
- Follow market developments and industry trends via watch, internal exchanges and participation in professional events.
- Identify prospects and establish lasting relationships with authorities, engineering offices and other stakeholders influencing purchasing decisions in the field.
- Negotiate and drive client specific contracts, projects and product developments, in coordination with internal departments (Legal, Finance, R&D, Strategic Marketing, Sales, Service and Customer Support).
- Analyze competitors’ activities, pricing strategies and market positioning in order to identify competitive advantages and adapt business approach.
- Participate in business activities: customer visits, phone calls, trade shows, seminars, workshops, product demos and evaluations, customer events and partner management.
Essential Requirements:
- Highschool Diploma, Bachelor and/or Master in Environmental Engineering preferred
- 5+ years of sales experience with Channel Partner & Key Accounts in Met business preferred
- Demonstrated relational and presentation skills, including ability to communicate with people of various technical backgrounds.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the use of a CRM tool for funnel management and forecasting
- Fluent written and spoken French and English, Spanish is an advantage
- Ability to travel as required within South and West Europe with a valid driver's license
- Self-motivated with a customer focused mindset
