Role Description

The Business Development Manager (Multiples) is a full-time, hybrid role based in Hanwell, with flexibility for some work from home. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working directly with buyers and category managers at major UK supermarkets, particularly Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and/or Sainsbury’s. The role will focus on managing and expanding our presence across the multiples channel by identifying growth opportunities, securing new listings, negotiating commercial terms, and driving sales and profitability.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with supermarket buyers and category managers
  • Presenting product and commercial proposals
  • Negotiating pricing and promotional activity
  • Monitoring competitor activity
  • Developing account-specific growth plans

The role will also involve coordinating with internal teams including supply chain, marketing and finance to ensure successful product launches, accurate forecasting, stock availability and effective promotional execution.

The Business Development Manager will analyse sales and market data, monitor key performance indicators, prepare regular reports and identify opportunities to improve distribution, rate of sale, visibility and profitability across the multiples channel.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience dealing directly with buyers and category managers at Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and/or Sainsbury’s is highly desirable and will be a key requirement for the role.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, account management or sales within FMCG, retail or food distribution.
  • Strong understanding of the UK multiples environment, including supermarket listings, pricing, promotions, margins and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating trading terms, pricing, promotional support and customer agreements.
  • Ability to analyse sales data, market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities and develop actionable account plans.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence buyers and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing product launches, promotional campaigns, forecasting and cross-functional projects.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems and sales/reporting dashboards.
  • Previous experience within World Foods, ethnic foods or multicultural FMCG products would be an advantage.
  • Relevant education in Business, Marketing or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Valid right to work in the UK and willingness to travel to retailer sites and meetings as required.
