Business Development Manager Touring Overview

The role of the Business Development Manager - Touring manages and executes the strategic activities for selling TAG Touring’s niche and unique offerings and developing existing and new business client accounts. The Business Development Manager - Touring has responsibility and accountability for self-generating quality new leads, having a constant sales pipeline and developing and converting potential opportunities into confirmed business.

This position compliments the wider Commercial department, working closely with Sales, Touring management and other team members who look after TAG’s valued Touring customers.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Be a driving force to contribute to the continued growth and success of TAG Touring
  • Create a portfolio of contacts pertinent to company and divisional offerings and self-generate quality new business leads.
  • Develop a network of strong connections and use proactive approaches to attract prospective clients
  • Utilise and assist divisional staff to generate repeat/more business from existing clients
  • Build positive relationships with potential clients and existing customers to seek untapped leads and referrals.
  • Establish a healthy rolling sales pipeline within the guidelines of company and divisional client targets.
  • Partner with Operations Managers and Directors to understand individual trading divisions and ensure sales pipelines are aligned with divisional target expectations.
  • Liaise with the Touring Director of Operations to forecast future sales targets and budgets
  • Accurately track prospective client interactions ensuring up-to-date information is always recorded.
  • Maintain CRM tool
  • Work with the Sales team to maximise the conversion rate of qualified new business opportunities
  • Run and complete end-to-end Sales processes for all new client potentials
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to significant market conditions and competitor threats and risks
  • Identify and recommend where TAG Touring’s offering can be improved to meet client-expected benchmarks.

Qualifications

  • Education to Degree level or higher OR In lieu of education – equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the TMC market within a key Touring client-base
  • Considerable experience of business development within the travel industry (preferably in Touring)
  • Demonstrated success in a similar role
  • Competency using the Salesforce platform (or other CRM/equivalent)
  • Proven record of working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
