Business Development Manager (National Security)
Location: UK Mobile Worker with regular travel to Farnborough and customer sites required
Salary: £75,800 - £99,800

Leidos is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our National Security and Defence (NS&D) Division, with a focus on the Home Office and wider National Security organisations.
Reporting to the BD Director for NS&D, you will collaborate with experienced business development, capture, technical and delivery colleagues to identify opportunities, build trusted customer relationships and develop compelling solutions that deliver meaningful outcomes.

The role you will play:
- Plan and lead business development activities that contribute to our annual growth and award targets in this strategic area of the UK business.
- Develop and manage a healthy pipeline of opportunities supporting our two-to-five-year growth ambitions and UK strategy.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with Home Office and National Security customers, partners and stakeholders, positioning Leidos as a strategic supplier.
- Work collaboratively with capture, bid, technical and delivery teams to shape differentiated, customer-focused propositions.
- Identify and qualify opportunities that align with Leidos’ strengths and offer strong outcomes for customers and the business.
- Lead significant new-business campaigns across the UK National Security market.
- Bring together colleagues from different disciplines, providing clear direction, inclusive leadership and effective communication throughout each pursuit.
What we’re looking for — essential experience:
- Experience of developing and winning digital transformation, technology or professional services opportunities within the Home Office, National Security or a comparable UK Government environment.
- A proven ability to build trusted customer and stakeholder relationships and translate customer needs into effective propositions.
- A track record of delivering sustainable business growth and working towards challenging commercial targets.
- Experience of leading complex, high-value pursuits and contract opportunities; experience at values above £15m would be particularly relevant.
- Strong knowledge of UK Government business development, procurement routes, contract awards and customer buying behaviours.
- Experience of working with frameworks and developing follow-on opportunities.
- Experience of creating compelling bids collaboratively with internal teams, customers and partners.
- Clear and adaptable communication, presentation, influencing and negotiation skills.
- The ability to prioritise and maintain progress across several concurrent pursuits in a changing environment.
- An inclusive and collaborative approach to leading, motivating and supporting multidisciplinary teams.

It would be beneficial if you also bring:
- Experience in a Business Development, Account Management or Capture role within the Home Office, National Security sector or a similarly complex government environment.
- Knowledge of PPPT and HSG.
- Knowledge of Immigration and Borders.
- An understanding of IT service management, networks, artificial intelligence and cyber technologies.
- Experience of developing partnerships or consortium arrangements to pursue opportunities.
- Experience of developing use cases for digital-transformation concept demonstrators.
- An understanding of Home Office or National Security digital-transformation programmes.

Security clearance:
The role requires Security Check (SC) clearance before starting and Developed Vetting (DV) clearance for the role. Any offer will be subject to the successful completion of the relevant vetting process.

Pay Range:
£75,800.00-£99,800.00
