Role Purpose

To drive mortgage lending volumes by developing and maximising business from existing registered intermediary relationships, with a primary focus on network and mortgage club brokers. The role will be responsible for increasing engagement, enquiries, applications and completions from existing accounts, while also identifying and developing new broker opportunities that align with United Trust Bank’s credit appetite, service proposition and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve agreed business objectives, including lending volume, applications, completions and quality of submitted business.
  • Develop and manage a targeted contact programme to grow business from registered network and mortgage club brokers.
  • Proactively engage with existing introducers to increase enquiries, applications and completions, with a particular focus on brokers who are registered but not currently submitting business.
  • Use management information and broker performance data to identify high-potential accounts, dormant relationships and opportunities for increased broker penetration.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key broker firms, mortgage clubs, networks and packagers to promote UTB’s mortgage proposition.
  • Identify and source new intermediary opportunities that complement the existing broker base and support the Bank’s lending strategy.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of competitor activity, pricing, criteria and service levels to position UTB effectively in the market.
  • Attend exhibitions, workshops, lender days, seminars and other broker-facing events as required.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of UTB’s lending products, credit appetite and service
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of competitors and UTB’s competitive advantages and USP’s
  • Maintain high levels of customer service, be responsive and exceed expectations wherever possible
  • Ensure that introducers are serviced effectively with any problems resolved swiftly.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a successful mortgage BDM or field-based intermediary sales professional
  • Established relationships within the UK intermediary mortgage market, ideally including network, club and specialist lending contacts.
  • Strong commercial focus with a track record of generating quality enquiries, applications and completions.
  • Ability to analyse account performance and identify opportunities to grow broker activity.
  • Confident presenting lending propositions to brokers, networks, clubs and internal stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated, organised and committed to delivering outstanding service to intermediaries and colleagues
  • Strong understanding of the UK mortgage intermediary market, broker distribution and specialist lending.
  • Detailed knowledge of mortgage products, criteria, pricing, service expectations and competitor propositions.
