CommScope’s Building & Campus Business
CommScope’s Building & Campus business delivers end-to-end enterprise networking infrastructure—structured copper and fiber cabling (SYSTIMAX®, NETCONNECT®, Uniprise®), powered fiber and automated infrastructure management (imVision®). It focuses on high bandwidth, longer distances, smarter visibility/monitoring, faster deployment and large-venue coverage—enabling connected, secure environments across offices, campuses, universities, hospitals, airports and other venues.
Senior Business Development Manager
The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for driving strategic customer engagement, developing key OEM and private label partnerships, and expanding CommScope's Building & Campus business across structured cabling markets. This role leads opportunity identification, funnel development, customer acquisition, revenue and profitability growth, strategic account development, and market expansion across copper cable, connectivity, and related infrastructure solutions.
The position serves as a commercial leader for private label and OEM growth initiatives, working closely with customers, distributors, engineering teams, product line management, operations, and sales organizations to identify new business opportunities and deliver differentiated solutions. Responsibilities include developing business plans, building strategic customer relationships, securing internal resources, creating growth strategies, and ensuring successful execution of customer programs.
The role carries a forward-looking mandate to identify emerging market opportunities, expand participation in adjacent structured cabling segments, develop strategic partnerships, and evaluate new business models that leverage CommScope's manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain capabilities. The objective is to accelerate profitable growth while maximizing utilization of CommScope's global manufacturing footprint and strengthening its position as a preferred OEM and private label partner.
Scope
A seasoned, advanced individual contributor who uses professional concepts and company objectives to solve complex business and commercial challenges in creative and effective ways. Operates with minimal direction and significant latitude in determining objectives and approaches. Exercises judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria. Expected to lead high-impact growth initiatives that shape the future direction of CommScope's OEM and private label business.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development
- Define and qualify ideal customer profiles for new OEM and private label opportunities aligned with CommScope's growth objectives.
- Develop and execute account strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability improvement, and long-term customer retention.
- Expand CommScope participation within existing customer organizations while identifying opportunities for new customer acquisition.
- Develop business cases and growth plans supporting expansion into adjacent markets, customer segments, and broader product offerings.

Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Maintain a deep understanding of the structured cabling market, including competitive activity, channel dynamics, industry trends, and customer buying behavior.
- Monitor market developments and emerging opportunities across copper, fiber, connectivity, and related infrastructure solutions.
- Analyze competitor strategies, supplier ecosystems, and customer investments to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.
- Communicate market intelligence to Product Line Management, Sales, Operations, and Leadership teams.
Solution Development & Commercial Execution
- Partner with Product Line Management and Engineering teams to identify new product concepts, product modifications, and customer-specific solutions.
- Guide solution development efforts by translating customer requirements into actionable product and business opportunities.
- Coordinate responses to RFQs, RFPs, commercial proposals, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Support rapid prototyping, product qualification activities, and production ramp initiatives required to secure new business.
Strategic Partnership Development
- Develop alliances and partnerships that enable growth within priority market segments.
- Collaborate with other Amphenol business units, suppliers, and ecosystem partners to identify mutually beneficial opportunities.
- Promote co-marketing, co-development, and strategic growth initiatives that strengthen customer relationships and expand market reach.
Revenue & Profitability Growth
- Support achievement of revenue, margin, and operating income objectives for the OEM and private label business.
- Evaluate business opportunities to ensure alignment with strategic, operational, and financial objectives.
- Support pricing strategy development, contract negotiations, and commercial terms discussions.
- Drive profitable growth while balancing customer needs, manufacturing capacity, and strategic priorities.
Project & Program Leadership
- Lead complex customer initiatives involving multiple functional organizations.
- Coordinate cross-functional resources to ensure successful execution of strategic programs.
- Manage project risks, escalation activities, timelines, and customer expectations.
- Deliver high-quality outcomes that support customer satisfaction and long-term partnership growth.
Marketing & Industry Engagement
- Represent CommScope at industry conferences, customer events, trade associations, and market forums.
- Support development of marketing strategies, customer presentations, and business development materials.
- Promote CommScope's capabilities as a leading provider of OEM and private label structured cabling solutions.
- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of experience in business development, sales, product management, market development, or related commercial leadership roles.
- Experience in structured cabling, networking infrastructure, telecommunications, data center infrastructure, electrical distribution, or related technology markets.
- Demonstrated success identifying and closing strategic growth opportunities.
Preferred Education & Experience
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving product management, engineering, manufacturing, and commercial organizations.
Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, copper and fiber infrastructure, connectivity solutions, and enterprise networking environments.
- Demonstrated ability to identify market trends and translate customer needs into business opportunities.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience evaluating revenue, margin, and profitability impacts.
- Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and executive communication skills.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive organizational alignment.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and rapidly evolving markets.
Working Conditions
- Normal office environment.
- No additional physical, visual, or hearing requirements.
- Expected to travel frequently within North America and internationally as required to support customers, partners, and business development initiatives.
