Role Description

The Business Development Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Manchester or Birmingham areas, United Kingdom, with flexibility to work from home part of the week with occasional travel to Leeds HQ. This role is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities in the communications and IT solutions space, including prospecting, qualifying leads, and managing a pipeline of potential clients. The Business Development Manager will:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful solution design and delivery
  • Track performance against sales targets
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform strategic sales initiatives and contribute to revenue growth

Qualifications

  • Proven business development or B2B sales experience in communications, IT, or technology solutions, with a hunter mentality and strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Strong skills in prospecting, lead qualification, pipeline management, and opportunity forecasting.
  • Ability to conduct needs analysis, develop tailored solutions, and present value propositions clearly to stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Competence in negotiation, contract management, and closing deals that align with customer requirements and company objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including confident presentation skills and the ability to build long-term client relationships.
  • Comfort with CRM systems, sales analytics tools, and standard office software to manage accounts and report on performance.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple opportunities and work independently in a hybrid environment.
  • Understanding of digital transformation, business communications, and IT solution trends; experience in the UK market is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel within the local area and occasionally further afield for client meetings and events.
