Business Development Manager
Remote / Field Based | UK & International Travel | Grimsby HQ
£40,000 - £60,000 Basic + Uncapped Commission
Are you a driven sales professional with a passion for engineering and building long-term customer relationships? We're partnering with a highly respected engineering business that continues to grow its presence across the UK and international markets. As part of their expansion plans, they're looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager who thrives on identifying new opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and delivering innovative solutions that make a real difference for customers.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with an excellent industry reputation, offering the autonomy of a remote and field-based role, supported by an experienced and collaborative team from their Grimsby headquarters. You'll also enjoy occasional international travel, giving you the chance to engage with customers and projects on a global scale.
What You'll Be Doing
As Business Development Manager, you'll take ownership of developing new business opportunities while nurturing lasting customer relationships across a diverse range of industries. Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities within target markets
- Developing and executing growth strategies to increase market share and revenue
- Managing the entire sales cycle, from initial enquiry through to contract negotiation and project delivery
- Building strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders
- Visiting clients across the UK and internationally, attending meetings, exhibitions, and industry events
- Staying ahead of market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities
- Collaborating with engineering, service, and aftermarket teams to deliver outstanding customer solutions
- Acting as the primary point of contact throughout the customer journey
- Driving account growth through repeat business, cross-selling, and long-term partnership development
- Supporting contract renewals, service agreements, and wider business development initiatives
- Providing technical guidance and solution-based support where required

What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with commercially minded sales professionals who can combine technical understanding with a consultative approach to business development. You'll ideally have:
- Experience in a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, Account Manager, or similar commercial role
- A strong engineering or technical background ideally within a Capital Equipment Field, with the ability to understand customer challenges and develop practical solutions
- Proven success in generating new business and managing customer accounts
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- The ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple opportunities
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with a genuine passion for winning business
- A full UK driving licence
- Flexibility to travel throughout the UK and internationally when required
