Business Development Manager – SaaS / Finance Technology
Location: Hybrid – Remote with weekly travel into London
Sector: SaaS / Finance Technology
Focus: New Business / Mid-Market
We're working with an established and growing B2B SaaS business that provides cloud-based finance technology to mid-market organisations.
The business combines the stability of an established software company with a new scale-up mentality, and they're now looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help accelerate new customer acquisition.
This is a genuine new business role. We're looking for someone who enjoys prospecting, opening doors and navigating complex sales processes through to close.
The Role
You'll be responsible for winning new mid-market customers, building relationships with senior finance stakeholders and owning opportunities throughout the full sales cycle. Key responsibilities include:
- Win new business – identify, develop and close new mid-market customers.
- Build your own pipeline – balance inbound opportunities with proactive outbound prospecting and self-generated leads.
- Engage C-level stakeholders – build relationships with CFOs, Finance Directors and senior decision-makers.
- Own the full sales cycle – from initial outreach and discovery through demos, business cases, negotiation and close.
- Consult rather than simply sell – understand customer challenges and demonstrate how technology can improve their finance operations.
- Influence GTM strategy – play an active role in shaping customer acquisition as the business scales.
- Collaborate internally – work alongside technical and delivery teams to ensure a smooth transition from signed contract through to go-live.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
