Are you an experienced Business Development Manager within Packaging or Manufacturing who thrives on winning new business, building relationships and creating commercial opportunities?
We're working with a growing manufacturing business looking for a driven and commercially minded BDM to join their team and play a key role in their continued growth. This is a genuine opportunity for someone who enjoys being out in the market, meeting customers, developing new relationships and turning opportunities into revenue. You'll have the freedom to develop your own pipeline, build your customer base and make a real impact across the UK.
The Opportunity
This is a field based role with a strong focus on new business development, relationship building and revenue growth.
- You'll spend your time meeting prospective customers, attending site visits, developing existing relationships and identifying new commercial opportunities across the UK.
- You'll be expected to attend the Liverpool office once per month, alongside regular customer meetings and travel throughout the UK.
You'll be joining a growing business where your experience, commercial approach and ability to win business will genuinely make a difference.

What You'll Be Doing
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the Packaging and Manufacturing sector.
- Build, manage and continually develop a strong sales pipeline.
- Generate your own opportunities through proactive business development.
- Arrange and attend customer meetings, site visits and presentations.
- Build long term relationships with new and existing customers.
- Understand customer requirements and develop commercially focused solutions.
- Prepare proposals, quotations and commercial presentations.
- Lead negotiations and successfully convert opportunities into new business.
- Work closely with internal operations, production and customer service teams to deliver for customers.
- Keep up to date with market activity, industry trends and competitor developments.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline and forecasting information.
- Consistently work towards agreed revenue and business development targets.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is confident, commercially driven and comfortable operating in a highly sales focused environment.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven Business Development or sales experience within Packaging Manufacturing. This is essential.
- A strong track record of winning new business and developing customer relationships.
- Confidence approaching prospective customers and creating your own opportunities.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand customer needs.
- The resilience and drive to develop opportunities from initial conversation through to close.
- A proactive and self motivated approach.
- Excellent organisation and the ability to manage your own diary and workload.
- The confidence to represent the business professionally with customers across the UK.
- A full UK driving licence.
