New Business Partner / Business Development Manager – B2B Events✨

Location: Hybrid (2 days per month in Central London)
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 + uncapped commission

About the Role

We’re looking for an ambitious New Business Partner / Business Development Manager to join a growing B2B events business and take ownership of new sponsor acquisition for an events portfolio.

This is a pure new business sales role. Your focus will be on identifying, engaging and converting new commercial partners across the UK and US, selling high-value sponsorship and hosted buyer packages.

You’ll work closely with an experienced Commercial Partner, who will support you with strategy, target accounts and larger opportunities, while you take ownership of building your own pipeline and closing new business.

This is not an account management role. You won’t be responsible for managing existing client relationships, renewals or post-event delivery. Your success will be measured by your ability to generate new opportunities, win new sponsors and deliver revenue.

What You’ll Be Selling

You’ll be representing a premium B2B event proposition that connects senior decision-makers with leading technology and solution providers.

Rather than traditional exhibition or conference sponsorship, the proposition is centred around high-quality, pre-qualified 1-to-1 meetings between commercial sponsors and relevant senior buyers.

You’ll be responsible for selling sponsorship packages typically ranging from £10,000 to £30,000+, with the opportunity to develop larger annual partnership opportunities over time.

Key Responsibilities⬇️

New Business Development

  • Build and manage a targeted pipeline of new sponsor prospects across the UK and US.
  • Conduct high-volume, intelligent outbound activity via LinkedIn, phone, email and other prospecting channels.
  • Identify senior decision-makers within relevant technology and solution-provider businesses.
  • Research prospects thoroughly and tailor outreach around their commercial objectives.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through to negotiation and close.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Consultative Sales

  • Hold commercially focused conversations with senior stakeholders including Sales Directors, Commercial Directors, Marketing Directors and C-suite executives.
  • Understand a prospect’s objectives and position the event proposition around their desired commercial outcomes.
  • Clearly communicate the value of curated, pre-qualified buyer meetings versus traditional event sponsorship and exhibition models.
  • Lead pitches, proposals and commercial negotiations through to signed agreement.

Pipeline & CRM Management

  • Own your sales pipeline and consistently work towards monthly and annual revenue targets.
  • Manage activity, opportunities and deal stages through HubSpot.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data and provide reliable sales forecasts.
  • Use tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator and prospecting technology to identify and engage high-value prospects.

Commercial Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Commercial Partner to identify high-value target accounts and opportunities.
  • Collaborate on larger enterprise opportunities and referrals generated through the wider business.
  • Contribute to the development of target lists, outbound strategies and commercial messaging.
  • Share market intelligence and feedback to help continuously improve the sales proposition.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is commercially driven, highly motivated and genuinely enjoys new business sales. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in B2B sales, ideally within events, sponsorship, media, conferences or another high-value B2B environment.
  • A proven track record of generating net-new business rather than relying primarily on account management or renewals.
  • Experience selling higher-value products or services, ideally with deal values of £10k+.
  • Strong outbound sales skills across LinkedIn, phone and email.
  • Confidence speaking with senior commercial decision-makers.
  • Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to manage a full sales cycle independently.
  • Experience using a CRM such as HubSpot, Salesforce or similar.
  • A highly organised and structured approach to pipeline management and forecasting.
  • A resilient, proactive mindset and the drive to consistently create opportunities rather than wait for leads.

Desirable Experience

Experience selling any of the following would be particularly valuable:

  • B2B event sponsorship
  • Executive conferences or summits
  • Hosted buyer events
  • 1-to-1 meeting platforms
  • B2B media
  • Executive networking platforms
  • Recruitment or HR technology
  • Technology solutions sold into senior commercial or HR audiences

Experience with a hosted buyer or curated-meetings model would be a strong advantage, but it is not essential for the right high-performing B2B salesperson.

The Person

This role would suit someone who is at their best when prospecting, pitching and closing. You’ll be comfortable picking up the phone, creating opportunities from scratch and speaking confidently with senior decision-makers.
