Business Development Manager | Hospitality & Premium Outdoor Projects
About Elite Custom Group
Elite Custom Group designs and delivers premium retractable roof systems, louvre roofs, architectural glass systems and integrated outdoor structures for hospitality venues, commercial properties and high-end residential clients.
Our projects help restaurants, pubs, hotels and other hospitality businesses create high-quality, weather-protected spaces that increase usable capacity, enhance the customer experience and support year-round trading.
We are a specialist technical and architectural business. We do not compete as a generic pergola supplier or primarily on price. Our value is built around bespoke design, technical capability, professional installation, durability and commercial return.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in hospitality-sector sales to help develop and manage our commercial sales function.
This is a consultative, relationship-led role for someone who understands how hospitality businesses make investment decisions and, ideally, already has an established professional network within the sector.
You should be comfortable building relationships with restaurant and pub owners, hospitality operators, hotel groups, developers, architects, contractors, landlords and other commercial decision-makers.
We are particularly interested in someone who knows how to open doors through genuine professional relationships, identify worthwhile opportunities and develop them into profitable projects.
This is not a high-pressure or transactional sales environment.
Many of our projects develop over several months as clients work through acquisitions, refurbishments, planning, design, budgets and internal approvals. The right person will understand how to remain commercially engaged throughout that journey, recognise when an opportunity is genuinely progressing and move at the client's pace without losing momentum.
The Role
You will manage opportunities through the full commercial sales cycle, from initial qualification and discovery through meetings, site visits, proposals, negotiation, deposit and commercial handover.
You will work with both inbound opportunities and proactively generated business, with a particular focus on hospitality and commercial property.
The role requires commercial judgement, strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to represent a premium technical brand in front of business owners, operators and senior decision-makers.
You will work within a structured CRM-led sales environment supported by automation and AI-assisted lead management, allowing more of your time to be focused on qualified opportunities, relationships and commercial decision-making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business with restaurants, pubs, hotels, hospitality groups, architects, developers, contractors, landlords and commercial property clients.
- Use existing hospitality-sector relationships to create introductions, meetings and qualified commercial opportunities.
- Manage and develop inbound opportunities from digital advertising, website enquiries, referrals, exhibitions and strategic partners.
- Conduct effective discovery, identifying the decision-maker, project objectives, commercial priorities, budget, timing and approval process.
- Build long-term relationships and manage opportunities whose buying cycles may extend over several months.
- Communicate the commercial value of creating high-quality, weather-protected, year-round hospitality spaces.
- Manage proposals and negotiations commercially, protecting project scope, pricing and gross margin rather than relying on discounting to win business.
- Maintain an accurate and disciplined sales pipeline using HighLevel CRM.
- Coordinate effectively with our design, technical and operations teams as opportunities progress towards confirmed projects.
- Develop repeatable relationships with hospitality groups, architects, developers and strategic partners that can generate multiple future opportunities.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role is not measured simply by the number of calls made or quotations sent.
We will look at:
- High-quality hospitality and commercial opportunities created.
- Relationships developed with meaningful decision-makers and strategic accounts.
- Qualified meetings, site visits and projects progressing through the pipeline.
- Strong management of both short and long-term sales opportunities.
- Proposal conversion, profitable revenue and confirmed gross profit won.
- Customer deposits and payments received.
- Accurate CRM management, commercial forecasting and clear understanding of why opportunities are won or lost.
Ultimately, success means building a strong, profitable and increasingly relationship-led commercial pipeline for Elite Custom Group.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven B2B consultative sales experience within hospitality or a closely related commercial property sector.
- A strong professional network within hospitality, ideally including relationships with venue owners, operators, hospitality groups, advisers, architects, developers or relevant suppliers.
- Demonstrable experience selling high-value products, projects, capital improvements or professional services.
- A good understanding of hospitality buying cycles and the ability to manage opportunities that may take months to reach a purchasing decision.
- Confidence communicating and negotiating with business owners, operators and senior decision-makers.
- Strong commercial judgement and an ability to sell on value, quality, return on investment and long-term benefit rather than price alone.
- Excellent relationship-development, communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong CRM discipline and the ability to manage a structured sales pipeline.
- Comfortable working with modern CRM, automation and AI-supported sales tools. Experience with HighLevel, HubSpot, Pipedrive or similar platforms would be useful.
- Able to work independently, create structure and take ownership without waiting for constant instruction.
- Professional, organised and credible when representing a premium technical brand.
