Role Description
The Business Development Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with some flexibility for working from home. In this role, the Business Development Manager will:

- Identify and develop new funding opportunities with SME clients
- Build and manage a pipeline of prospects
- Maintain strong relationships with existing partners and intermediaries
- Conduct needs assessments
- Present appropriate lending solutions
- Prepare proposals
- Coordinate closely with underwriting and operations teams to ensure a smooth client journey

The Business Development Manager will also:
- Track performance against targets
- Analyse market trends
- Contribute to the development of sales strategies and growth initiatives

- Participate in industry events and networking activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within financial services or SME lending.
- Strong skills in prospecting, lead generation, and pipeline management, with the ability to meet and exceed revenue and growth targets.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term client and partner relationships, with excellent negotiation and closing skills.
- Comfort with analysing financial information, understanding lending products, and explaining tailored funding solutions to clients.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, including confident presentation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise, work independently, and collaborate within a team in a hybrid environment.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, basic data analysis, and reporting tools to monitor performance and support decision-making.
- Knowledge of the UK SME market and awareness of relevant lending regulations and industry standards is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
