Business Development Manager

Location: UK (Home-Based)
Salary: Competitive Salary + Benefits (Dependent upon experience)

Our Client

An established and highly respected business within the flexible packaging sector is seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to support its continued growth strategy across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven sales professional with a strong background in flexible packaging and film extrusion, looking to join a business with significant manufacturing capability, a diverse product portfolio, and a reputation for delivering innovative packaging solutions to major customers across multiple markets.

The Role

Reporting into senior commercial leadership, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities while growing existing customer relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing strategic business development plans.
  • Identifying, targeting, and winning new customers across key market sectors.
  • Managing complex sales cycles from initial contact through to commercial agreement.
  • Building strong relationships with procurement, technical, operations, and senior decision-makers.
  • Working closely with internal manufacturing and technical teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Maintaining an active pipeline of opportunities and delivering against revenue and margin objectives.
  • Monitoring market activity, competitor trends, and emerging opportunities.

About You

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who possess:

  • Proven business development experience within the flexible packaging industry.
  • Strong understanding of film extrusion processes and applications.
  • Experience selling flexible packaging products such as films, laminates, pouches, or related solutions.
  • A track record of generating and securing new business opportunities.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to build credibility with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building capabilities.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to work remotely.
