Role Summary
The Business Development Manager drives the commercial launch and market adoption of a first-to-market SaaS platform designed for chemical testing and compliance. This role exists to identify high-value opportunities, convert new business, and ensure seamless customer onboarding within the professional services sector. Success is measured by new logo acquisition, pipeline velocity, and the successful establishment of the product’s market presence.
This is a full-time, mid-level position based on-site in Warrington, offering a high degree of autonomy to shape the go-to-market strategy for a growing 11-50 person company.
Work Setup & Collaboration
- Location: Fully on-site in Warrington to facilitate high-velocity collaboration with leadership and technical teams.
- Autonomy: High level of ownership; you will lead the sales process from lead generation through to account growth.
- Collaboration: Works closely with technical and operational teams to align product capabilities with customer compliance needs.
- Environment: Entrepreneurial and fast-paced; requires the ability to navigate evolving processes in a growth-stage firm.
What You'll Do
- Lead the commercial launch and execution of the go-to-market strategy for an innovative compliance software platform.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities across targeted sectors using a proactive "hunter" methodology.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting and qualification to negotiation and closing.
- Deliver product demonstrations that clearly communicate the value proposition and time-saving efficiencies to stakeholders.
- Own the onboarding process to ensure successful platform adoption and a high-quality initial customer experience.
- Act as the voice of the customer by feeding market insights and user feedback back to the product development team.
- Develop account growth plans to maximize retention and identify upsell opportunities within the existing portfolio.
- Maintain pipeline accuracy within the CRM to provide reliable forecasting and visibility to the leadership team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure technical implementation meets the specific regulatory needs of each client.

Success Indicators
- Achieve monthly and quarterly new business revenue and customer acquisition targets.
- Maintain a robust pipeline with a minimum 3x coverage ratio against sales quotas.
- Ensure 100% successful onboarding of new accounts, measured by platform activity within the first 30 days.
- Deliver monthly market intelligence reports that influence product roadmap and commercial strategy.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in Business Development, Account Management, or B2B Software Sales.
- Proven track record of winning new business and managing a complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycle.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate contracts and articulate ROI effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously without loss of momentum.
- Experience in professional services or software-as-a-service (SaaS) environments.
- High resilience and a proactive approach to overcoming gatekeepers and closing deals.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for presenting complex solutions to senior decision-makers.

- Previous experience working in an early-stage startup or launching a new product.
- Familiarity with CRM optimization and sales process design.
