Location: South East, UK (Remote)

Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving profitable sales growth and building strong relationships with Window and Door Fabricators, Installers, Locksmiths, and specialist door hardware distributors. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, and working closely with internal teams to meet sales targets, contributing to the company's overall success.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential customers and projects.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs and industry trends.

Account Management

  • Manage and nurture relationships with existing customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing support.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with customers to assess performance and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Assist customers with technical inquiries and coordinate with the technical support team for complex issues.

Sales Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Focus on ‘profitable growth’ and margin management.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations to customers.
  • Negotiate terms and commercial agreements to secure long-term business.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Provide feedback to product marketing/sourcing teams based on customer insights and market trends.
  • Work with marketing teams to develop and execute campaigns tailored to Trade channel customers.
  • Working with operations colleagues on SIOP, forecasting & inventory management

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Monitor sales and margin performance against targets and KPIs, and report on progress to management.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales agreements in the CRM system.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.

Qualifications & Experience:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, preferably within the fenestration sector
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the door hardware industry.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and closing skills, with experience in contract management and deal structuring.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand technical product specifications and applications.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in CRM software, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers, attend industry events, and support sales activities.
