The Team

The Global Services team at Schneider Electric supports some of New Zealand's most critical infrastructure, including hospitals, data centres, utilities, commercial buildings, manufacturing facilities and various industrial sites.

Our team helps customers improve reliability, efficiency, safety and sustainability through a broad portfolio of service agreements, modernisation projects, consulting services, digital solutions, critical power and cooling infrastructure and other electrical distribution technologies.

The Opportunity

Backed by Schneider Electric's extensive installed base and strong customer relationships across New Zealand, we are currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager. With access to a rich pipeline of opportunities from day one, this is a role where you can make a genuine impact, build long-term partnerships and help customers solve real operational challenges.

We're also experiencing strong growth across recurring service contracts, consulting, modernisation, and digital solutions, creating a variety of exciting opportunities for an ambitious sales professional who enjoys both hunting for new business and growing existing relationships, while being part of a team that genuinely wins together.

The Role

This role provides ownership of a diverse South Island territory, giving you the opportunity to work across some of New Zealand's most important industries while building long-term customer partnerships.

While there is a strong focus on winning new business, this isn't a cold-calling role. You'll be supported by Schneider Electric's extensive installed base, customer insights, technical specialists, service teams, and tendering resources, helping you target the right opportunities and deliver meaningful customer outcomes from day one.

Success comes from taking a consultative approach, understanding customer challenges, and connecting them with solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, safety, and sustainability. With flexibility across markets and customers as priorities evolve, you'll have the freedom to build your territory your way, explore new opportunities, and shape your own success.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Build and convert a strong pipeline of new business opportunities
  • Grow and develop key customer relationships across your territory
  • Leverage installed base data and customer insights to identify high-value opportunities
  • Promote Schneider Electric's service, consulting, digital and modernisation solutions
  • Collaborate with technical, operations, tendering and other specialist teams to deliver the best customer outcomes
  • Develop and execute practical territory and account growth plans
  • Work with tendering and technical teams on proposals and customer solutions
  • Manage forecasts, pipeline, and activity through CRM tools
  • Stay close to your market with regular travel throughout the South Island

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
