This is an on road sales position covering territories in South UK including Cheltenham to Luton and up to Cambridge and Norwich. Four days per week in the field, one day per week working from home.
As a Business Development Manager, you will maximize sales on all products within the APT brands to improve market share and develop strategic relationships with our retail agent partners. You will be responsible for developing strong relationships with our B2B retail agent partners, driving the APT brands USPs and awareness whilst identifying new B2B and B2C customers. With a passion for premium and luxury travel, you will effectively connect with your business partners, whilst confidently executing your sales plan and achieve passenger objectives/goals and sales targets. As the success-driven Business Development Manager, you are the elegant, energetic and ambassador of our brand values and ethos to the travel industry, to our consumer travellers and guests, and internal/external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Identify key B2B growth markets, categories and prospects that align with APT's objectives
- Develop, maintain and implement activity and business plans to achieve and maximise revenue growth
- Motivate retail agents on product selling features through seminars, workshops, webinars and marketing collateral, escort familiarisation trips for agents as required
- Deliver presentations to large and small groups to drive business and promote the APT and Travelmarvel suite of products
- Monitor competitor and general market activities and identify opportunities for APT Travel Group products
- Participate in promotional events such as travel shows, trade events, product launches and other various promotions
- Represent the company at national and international industry conferences when required
- Responsible for ensuring sales budgets are adhered to and ROI is ascertained on all sales spend
- Provide a summary of market intelligence in monthly reports including product feedback, competitor analysis, general market trends and conditions

ABOUT YOU
- Minimum 2 years previous experience in a Business Development or Account Management role
- Previous sales experience within the travel industry, retail or wholesale
- An outgoing and confident personality
- Self-leadership and a high level of organisational and time management skills
- Proven relationship management skills
- Exceptional presentation and training skills
- Well-developed negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to analyse and evaluate sales opportunities
- The ability to work within a team and to openly share information with team members and other departments
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint, and comfortable with new technology
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required, travelling extensively throughout the territories with frequent overnight travel during peak seasons
