BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Location: Southwest Region England (Group Head Office - Cowie, Stirling)
Reporting to: National Sales Manager
We're looking for a driven and commercially minded Business Development Manager to help grow our presence across the Southwest region. You'll build strong relationships with builders' merchants, housebuilders, contractors and other construction professionals, identifying new opportunities and converting them into profitable sales. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a proven track record in construction sales who thrives on developing new business and delivering results.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities across the construction sector.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with builders' merchants, housebuilders, contractors, developers and specifiers.
- Managing opportunities throughout the sales cycle, from prospecting through to conversion.
- Preparing and presenting proposals, quotations and product solutions to customers.
- Negotiating commercial agreements and securing profitable business.
- Maintaining an active sales pipeline, updating CRM records and providing accurate sales forecasts.
- Representing the business at customer meetings, site visits and industry events.
- Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Proven experience in business development, field sales or account management within the construction, building products or a related industry.
- A successful track record of winning new business and achieving sales targets.
- Strong relationship-building, communication and networking skills.
- Commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- A self-motivated, organised and resilient approach, with the ability to work independently in a target-driven environment.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the region.

The role is based on a manufacturing site and requires compliance with site safety rules and the wearing of appropriate PPE (training provided). Some flexibility may be required to meet business needs.
