Job Introduction

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to grow our presence across London, the Home Counties, and Luton. Preferably you will need to live within the territory and have a strong understanding of the construction market across the region.

This is a high-profile new business role with a particular focus on major projects, Tier 1 contractors, and key subcontractors. You’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities, opening doors, and developing positive, lasting relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.

Our Business Development Managers are focused on maximising revenue and profitability through proactive business development, major project engagement, and strategic account growth. If you have a proven track record of winning significant new business, developing opportunities from the ground up, and building relationships that deliver long-term commercial value, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business activity across London, the Home Counties, and Luton, with a focus on mechanical, electrical, commercial fit-out, and associated trades.
  • Identify, target, and develop opportunities across major construction projects, Tier 1 contractors, and national and regional subcontractors.
  • Build strong, positive, and lasting relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, project teams, and senior stakeholders.
  • Develop relationships with Health & Safety contacts, presenting and demonstrating innovative and safe solutions that differentiate MEP Hire from the competition.
  • Build a strong pipeline of major project opportunities and proactively convert these into profitable new business.
  • Work closely with regional sales teams and the London Sales Director to agree on customer and project targets, reviewing progress on a regular basis.
  • Introduce key customer and project contacts to regional sales teams to support long-term account development.
  • Maximise revenue and profitability by identifying opportunities to increase MEP Hire’s presence across target customers and projects.
  • Maintain clear visibility of all business development activity and opportunities through effective use of the CRM system.
  • Develop a strong understanding of our existing and new products, their applications, and relevant legislation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
