BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Based Duns / Scottish Borders – REMOTE ACROSS THE UK
Salary / OTE C£80-100k Per Annum plus Car / Car Allowance

Based in Duns (beautiful Scottish Borders), GRW Talent is proud to be retained and partnering with Fleming Homes. For 40 years they’ve been designing and manufacturing timber frames, while helping self-builders create homes that they are genuinely proud of; working closely with each customer; getting the details right; and building relationships that last long after the frames go up.

The business has recently invested in a new factory, which means more capacity, more ambition, and a genuine opportunity to take what they do into new markets. They are now ready to start working with main contractors, small developers, and architects and need to make the key hire of a Business Development Manager to help facilitate the growth and develop the leadership team.

Reporting into the Managing Director, the Business Development Manager is a new position, which means you'll be building something rather than maintaining something. That's either exciting or terrifying depending on who you are. As the head of our sales team you'll do two things - lead and grow our existing self-build sales team (six great people) and personally drive a new logo pipeline – developing relationships with custom build developers, main contractors, small developers, and architects who should be specifying timber frame on their projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
