Job Title: Business Development Manager – Tier 1 Accounts

Location: United Kingdom or Switzerland

Travel: Up to 50%

Working Pattern: Fully Remote

The Role:

We are seeking a Manager, Business Development, Growth Accounts to drive revenue growth across our Tier 1 client portfolio. Working closely with Growth Account Managers (GAMs) and Platform Account Managers, you will identify new product opportunities, expand product adoption, and strengthen relationships within key strategic accounts.

In this role, you will develop and execute growth strategies that increase revenue, expand product portfolios, and deliver against sales and margin targets. Using a consultative approach, you will work with internal teams and senior client stakeholders to uncover opportunities, create value, and support long-term account growth.

What You Will Do:

  • Drive new product acquisition and portfolio expansion within Major Accounts and Tier 1 clients, identifying opportunities to increase revenue and strengthen strategic partnerships.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customers’ products, technologies, manufacturing capabilities, and business objectives to anticipate needs and align solutions effectively.
  • Build and maintain detailed knowledge of customer sourcing, supply chain, and procurement strategies to identify growth opportunities and influence buying decisions.
  • Navigate complex customer organizations, understanding key stakeholders, decision-making processes, and RFI/RFP requirements to successfully position solutions and secure new business.
  • Lead commercial discussions and negotiate mutually beneficial agreements, collaborating with internal teams to convert opportunities into new product wins.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal stakeholders, including Technical Sales, Commercial Development, and Platform teams, ensuring alignment on capabilities, value propositions, and customer requirements.
  • Represent the business at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events, supporting lead generation activities, partnership development, and the conversion of prospects into qualified opportunities.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Degree educated in a Life Sciences discipline such as Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
  • Extensive commercial and business development experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CDMO industry, with a proven ability to generate and grow strategic customer partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle, including pre-clinical, clinical, manufacturing, and commercialisation stages, with the ability to engage in meaningful scientific and business discussions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to influence stakeholders ranging from technical experts to senior executives.
  • Experience managing sales pipelines and customer engagement activities using CRM platforms, ideally Salesforce.com.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
