The Opportunity

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to help drive the next phase of our success.

This is a true 360 sales role where you’ll be responsible for generating new business, developing existing customers and managing opportunities from first conversation through to close. You’ll have the freedom to build your own pipeline while benefiting from qualified appointments, marketing support and an established customer base.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Customer Experience and Growth, you’ll take ownership of your own accounts and be responsible for delivering profitable growth through both new customer acquisition and account development.

You’ll work with organisations of all sizes across a broad range of industries, helping customers improve the way they communicate through solutions including:

  • Business Telephone Systems
  • Cloud Communications
  • Business Mobiles
  • Connectivity & Broadband
  • Vehicle Tracking
  • Managed Telecom Solutions

You’ll manage the entire sales process, from prospecting through to proposal, negotiation and close.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business through networking, referrals, LinkedIn, outbound prospecting and self-generated activity.
  • Develop existing customers to maximise account value and identify cross sell opportunities.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from initial contact through to implementation.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline with accurate forecasting.
  • Conduct face to face and virtual customer meetings and presentations.
  • Understand customer challenges and recommend tailored commercial solutions.
  • Build trusted relationships with business owners and senior decision makers.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth customer experience.
  • Represent Signal Telecom at networking events and exhibitions where appropriate.

About You

You’ll be a driven sales professional who enjoys winning new business but also understands the value of developing long-term customer relationships.

You’ll be comfortable managing your own diary, creating opportunities and taking ownership of your results.

You’ll ideally have

  • Previous B2B sales experience.
  • Experience generating your own appointments.
  • A consultative approach to selling.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Confidence presenting solutions to business decision makers.
  • A proactive, organised and self-motivated approach.
  • Experience within telecoms, technology or managed services would be advantageous but isn’t essential.
