Business Development Manager (Training)
Location: Cardiff (with regular travel to customer sites)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £37000 - £42000 (DOE), plus excellent bonus potential
Holiday: 33 days per annum (including bank holidays)

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a motivated and commercially driven Business Development Manager to help expand our customer base, strengthen existing relationships, and promote our diverse portfolio of training services.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Training, you'll play a key role in driving the continued growth of our training division. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for sales, relationship management, and business development who enjoys building partnerships and identifying new commercial opportunities.
You'll work closely with internal teams to generate leads, manage the sales pipeline, support marketing initiatives, and ensure our training offering reaches both new and existing customers.

- Identify and develop new business opportunities to grow the training division.
- Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline from initial enquiry through to conversion.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers to maximise repeat business.
- Work collaboratively with the marketing team to develop campaigns, social media content, and lead generation activities.
- Monitor sales performance, revenue, and commercial opportunities to support business growth.
- Review and evaluate marketing campaigns, recommending improvements where appropriate.
- Develop an understanding of available funding opportunities and communicate these effectively to customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with funding bodies, employers, and key stakeholders.
- Create and manage marketing content using HubSpot and Arlo.
- Assist with course scheduling and tutor planning to ensure effective programme delivery.
- Support the invoicing process and wider administration within the training department.
- Represent City Training Group at networking events, exhibitions, conferences, and industry shows.
About You
We're looking for someone who is proactive, enthusiastic, and commercially minded, with the confidence to build lasting customer relationships.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in business development, sales, or account management.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proven ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Commercial awareness and an analytical approach to performance.
- Experience using CRM systems such as HubSpot (desirable).
- Knowledge of funded training or apprenticeship programmes would be advantageous but is not essential.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
