Business Development Manager

Nottingham & South Yorkshire

Competitive Salary + Company Car + Bonus

We’re working with a well-established and highly respected business within the hospitality and drinks sector, with a strong portfolio of recognised brands and a growing presence across the UK market.

As the business continues to develop, they’re looking for an ambitious, commercially driven, and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to take ownership of the Nottingham & South Yorkshire territory.

This is a hands-on, field-based role combining new business development, account management, commercial growth, and relationship building. You’ll be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing existing customer relationships, and driving sales and distribution across your territory.

Working closely with customers and internal teams, you’ll play a key role in growing revenue, maximising commercial opportunities, and ensuring customers receive the right products and support for their businesses.

The Role

  • Identifying, targeting, and securing new business opportunities across the Nottingham & South Yorkshire territory
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships to drive sales growth and long-term loyalty
  • Managing and developing a portfolio of existing customers, ensuring excellent service and maximising account potential
  • Driving continuous distribution and sales growth across the territory
  • Developing tailored commercial propositions based on individual customer requirements and market opportunities
  • Managing your territory to maximise revenue, profitability, and overall P&L performance
  • Negotiating commercial agreements and propositions to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Using data, financial analysis, and market insight to identify opportunities and support commercial decision-making
  • Planning and managing customer journeys effectively across both face-to-face and virtual meetings
  • Monitoring changes within the On Trade marketplace and adapting your approach to meet evolving customer needs
  • Building strong relationships with key decision-makers and becoming a trusted commercial partner
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver excellent customer service and support business objectives
  • Maintaining a strong sales pipeline and delivering against agreed sales targets, KPIs, and growth objectives

About You

  • Proven experience within business development, field sales, territory management, account management, or a similar commercial sales role
  • A strong track record of winning new business and delivering consistent sales growth
  • Commercially astute, with a strong understanding of profitability and P&L
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data and financial information to identify opportunities
  • Experience within the drinks, FMCG, hospitality, or On Trade sectors would be advantageous
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of your own territory
  • A confident and consultative approach to selling, with the ability to understand customer needs and develop tailored solutions
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a wider commercial team
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the territory
