With operations spanning Europe, Asia, North America, and beyond, PATLITE continues to help businesses improve productivity, safety, and equipment efficiency through advanced signalling technology. As part of their continued growth strategy within the UK market, they are looking for a driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager to strengthen their presence across the South of England.

Job Description

Reporting to the UK Sales Manager, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, growing existing customer relationships, and increasing PATLITE's market share throughout Southern England. You will work closely with distributors, system integrators, machine builders, OEMs, and end users to promote PATLITE's extensive portfolio of signalling and communication products.

The role offers a high degree of autonomy and would suit someone who enjoys identifying opportunities, developing long-term relationships, and delivering consultative sales solutions in a technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities across key industrial sectors.
  • Build strong relationships with OEMs, machine builders, systems integrators, distributors, and end users.
  • Promote PATLITE products and solutions through customer visits, presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with distribution partners to generate and convert sales opportunities.
  • Manage and develop existing customer accounts to maximise revenue growth.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management, and regular activity reporting via CRM systems.
  • Attend industry exhibitions, trade shows, and networking events to enhance PATLITE's market presence.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including technical support, customer service, and marketing.

The Successful Applicant

What we're looking for from a Business Development Manager:-

  • Proven success in business development or field sales.
  • Experience selling technical products or solutions into industrial, manufacturing, automation, electrical, or engineering markets.
  • Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills.
  • Commercially driven with a passion for identifying and winning new business.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently whilst contributing to a wider team environment.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the South of England.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation, signalling solutions, sensors, controls, or related technologies.
  • Experience working with distributors, OEMs, machine builders, or system integrators.
  • Understanding of manufacturing and Industry 4.0 environments.
  • CRM experience and structured sales methodology.
