Ready to Own the Next Stage of a Growing International SaaS Business?

Connected Safety Net is entering an exciting stage of its growth.

Our technology is now being deployed across 29 countries, supporting organisations ranging from major international businesses to UK public-sector organisations and local authorities.

We are now looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager – UK & Europe to take ownership of our next phase of commercial growth.

This is not a heavily scripted sales role.

We want someone with the confidence, creativity and commercial instinct to build opportunities, develop relationships and help shape how Connected Safety Net grows across the UK and Europe.

You will have considerable autonomy to develop markets, pursue strategic accounts and work directly with our senior leadership, product and operational teams.

For the right person, it represents an opportunity to build something rather than simply inherit a sales territory.

Who Are Connected Safety Net?

Connected Safety Net is a rapidly growing Software-as-a-Service business helping organisations digitise and connect safety, compliance, risk and operational processes.

Our configurable no-code Digital Factory allows customers to replace fragmented paper, spreadsheet and legacy processes with connected digital workflows, mobile applications, dashboards, automation and AI-enabled insight.

Our capabilities span areas including:

  • Health, Safety, Risk & Compliance
  • Audits, Inspections and Assessments
  • Incident and Action Management
  • Facilities and Asset Management
  • Workforce and Contractor Management
  • Training and Microlearning
  • Logistics and Distribution Operations
  • Manufacturing
  • Hospitality
  • Healthcare
  • Housing and Local Government
  • Retail
  • Highways and Public-Sector Services
  • Connected AI, Analytics and Management Insight

Our customer base already includes organisations operating at local, national and global scale, and our international footprint continues to expand.

The Opportunity

We are looking for someone to lead and own business development across the UK and Europe.

Your primary objective will be simple: create sustainable new revenue.

The route to achieving it is deliberately less prescriptive.

You will identify target organisations, develop relationships with senior decision-makers, qualify opportunities and take prospects through discovery, demonstrations, commercial discussions and ultimately contract award.

You will also help us continue building our presence within the UK public sector, where Connected Safety Net already has valuable experience and customer relationships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Our target private-sector markets include:

  • Manufacturing
  • Logistics
  • Distribution
  • Retail
  • Hospitality
  • Healthcare
  • Housing
  • Facilities
  • Safety & Compliance

You will work closely with the MD and wider leadership team, giving you direct access to the people who can make commercial, product and delivery decisions quickly.

What You Will Own

Your responsibilities will include developing and executing the UK and European sales strategy; building a high-quality pipeline of new business opportunities; identifying and developing strategic and enterprise accounts; and creating opportunities through direct prospecting, networking, partnerships, exhibitions and referrals.

You will lead customer discovery sessions and work with our technical and operational teams to translate customer challenges into compelling digital solutions.

The role will also involve delivering platform demonstrations and commercial presentations, developing proposals and business cases, negotiating commercial agreements and supporting public-sector procurement and tender opportunities.

Most importantly, you will take responsibility for opportunities from the first conversation through to contract award, while helping identify opportunities for expansion within strategic accounts.

The Person We Are Looking For

We are less interested in someone who simply matches a traditional job description and more interested in someone who can demonstrate that they know how to create business.

You will ideally have proven B2B business development or enterprise sales experience within SaaS, software, digital transformation, technology or another solution-led environment.

Experience selling into one or more of our target markets would be particularly valuable, especially:

  • UK Public Sector
  • Local Government
  • Manufacturing
  • Logistics
  • Retail
  • Hospitality
  • Healthcare

You should be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, including CEOs, Managing Directors, Operations Directors, Health & Safety leaders, Procurement teams and other executive decision-makers.

You will need excellent written and spoken English and must be comfortable presenting complex ideas in a clear, commercially compelling way.

Previous experience working with UK organisations and a strong understanding of the UK B2B sales environment are highly desirable.

European Languages

Connected Safety Net is increasingly international, so additional European language capability would be a genuine advantage.

Our ideal combination would be:

  • English + French and/or Spanish

Other European languages would also be welcomed.

These languages are advantageous rather than essential. We would not overlook an exceptional UK business development professional simply because English is their only language.

What Will Make Someone Successful Here?

You are probably someone who gets frustrated when every commercial decision requires five meetings and three levels of approval.

You enjoy autonomy.

You see an organisation and naturally start thinking about who the decision-makers are, what problems they might have and how you could start a conversation.

You are comfortable creating opportunities rather than waiting for leads to arrive.

And when a significant opportunity emerges, you have the discipline and persistence to stay with it through a potentially complex enterprise sales cycle.

We want someone entrepreneurial enough to challenge us too. Connected Safety Net has grown quickly, but we don't assume we have discovered every route to market.

Your ideas will matter.

Rewarding Success

We want the person responsible for helping create our growth to participate meaningfully in that success.

The role therefore combines a strong basic salary with an attractive 5% revenue-based bonus opportunity, subject to the detailed commission scheme.

We anticipate combined annual earnings in the region of £50,000–£70,000+, but importantly, we do not see this as a ceiling.

The scale of some of the opportunities we pursue means exceptional individual wins can create very substantial commission payments. A major international account, for example, could potentially generate an individual bonus measured in tens of thousands of pounds, depending on the contract value and applicable commission terms.

We therefore want to meet candidates who think beyond simply achieving an annual target.

Share in the Value You Help Create

There is another important dimension to this opportunity.

Eligible members of our team can participate in a share option / value creation programme, designed to allow people who make a meaningful contribution to the growth of Connected Safety Net to participate in the value they help create.

This is not simply another short-term sales incentive.

The programme is designed around our longer-term growth ambitions and will be explained fully during the interview process, including eligibility, vesting and applicable terms.

Why Join Connected Safety Net Now?

Because the foundations have already been built, but there is still a huge amount of opportunity ahead of us.

We are already operating internationally.

We are already delivering for customers.

Our technology is already being used across multiple sectors.

And we are continuing to invest in our platform, Connected AI capabilities, people and international infrastructure.

The next challenge is to take that capability into substantially more organisations across the UK and Europe.

That is where you come in.

Working Environment

This is predominantly a home-based UK role, with approximately 90% of your working time expected to be remote.

There will be occasional travel for strategically important customer meetings, presentations and exhibitions across the UK and Europe.

We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys the flexibility and independence of remote working while also being comfortable representing Connected Safety Net professionally when face-to-face engagement matters.

Interested?

If you are looking for a conventional sales job with a tightly defined territory and a script to follow, this probably isn't it.

If you are looking for the opportunity to own a market, influence commercial strategy, build significant customer relationships and participate financially in the growth you help create, we would very much like to hear from you.

Please apply with your CV and, ideally, a short introduction explaining:

  • What have you sold,
  • Who have you sold it to, and
  • What makes you believe you could help take Connected Safety Net to its next level of growth?
