Location: United Kingdom – Hybrid / Remote Department: Commercial – Road Freight Position: Business Development Manager (BDM)
We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to strengthen our Road Freight division in the UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities across UK–Europe cross-border and intra-European road freight, building long-term relationships with customers and contributing directly to the continued growth of our European network.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the UK road freight market.
- Generate and manage your own sales pipeline, from prospecting through to closing.
- Develop customers with regular UK ↔ Europe transport requirements.
- Promote our international road freight solutions, including FTL, LTL, groupage, temperature-controlled and specialist transport.
- Build strong relationships with logistics managers, supply chain teams, procurement departments and key decision-makers.
- Prepare commercial proposals and negotiate rates and contractual conditions.
- Work closely with our operational and European teams to ensure competitive and reliable solutions.
- Develop existing accounts and identify opportunities for additional lanes and services.
- Monitor market trends, competitors and new commercial opportunities.
- Achieve agreed revenue and gross profit targets.

Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in Road Freight / Transport / Freight Forwarding business development.
- Strong knowledge of the UK logistics market and European road freight.
- Existing network of potential customers and industry contacts is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable track record of winning new business.
- Strong commercial, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Independent, proactive and results-oriented approach.
- Comfortable developing business through calls, meetings, networking and customer visits.
- Good understanding of international transport operations and UK–EU cross-border movements.
