About The Role
The Business Development Manager role at Reed offers an exciting opportunity for a proactive and driven professional to contribute to the company's growth objectives. This full-time position is primarily remote, with travel across South East required to meet clients and attend industry events. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding product sales within their designated territory by building strong relationships with customers and managing sales activities efficiently. The role encompasses a blend of new business development and account management, requiring a strategic approach to client engagement and market expansion.
In this position, you will play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing accounts, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or in a similar sales role.
- A strong track record of developing and maintaining customer relationships.
- Proficiency in managing CRM databases and maintaining accurate records.
- Technical competence related to the company's products and industry.
- Excellent organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A proactive attitude and a results-driven mindset.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage the growth of sales within the assigned territory, ensuring consistent progress toward targets.
- Maintain regular sales visits and calls to existing and potential clients, fostering long-term relationships and identifying new opportunities.
- Service current accounts by providing excellent customer support and expanding the range of products sold within existing client bases.
- Identify and develop new business prospects through market research, networking, and industry events, generating new accounts and revenue streams.
- Maintain a balanced portfolio of accounts, including long-term, medium-term, and short-term prospects to ensure sustainable growth.
- Participate in industry exhibitions and events to promote Reed’s products and services, expanding brand awareness.
- Organize and manage the territory effectively, ensuring optimal coverage and resource allocation.
- Keep the CRM (Maximiser) database current with detailed records of customer interactions, visit reports, RFQs, and market intelligence.
- Maintain technical knowledge of products and stay informed about competitors’ offerings to position Reed effectively in the market.
- Prioritize sales activities and optimize the ratio of sales to non-sales activities, such as administrative tasks and back-office functions.
- Consistently strive to exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall success of the sales team.
