Business Development Manager – North of England
Logistics and Supply Chain
Salary: £45,000 basic + 10% annual bonus + Company Car
Location: Home-based, covering the South of England
Are you a results-driven sales professional with a passion for winning new business? We're looking for a Business Development Manager to join our commercial team, responsible for driving new customer acquisition across the North of England. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing organisation within the logistics and supply chain sector, where you'll have the autonomy to build your territory while being supported by an experienced UK commercial team.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Identifying and targeting new customers to grow sales and increase market share
- Building and managing a healthy sales pipeline from prospecting through to contract completion
- Developing tailored commercial proposals and presenting solutions to prospective customers
- Negotiating commercial agreements and winning new business
- Maintaining market awareness, including competitor activity and customer trends
- Working closely with Operations, Customer Service, and Finance to ensure smooth customer onboarding
- Managing activity through CRM and reporting tools to accurately forecast performance
About You

- 3–5 years' experience in business development, sales, or account management
- A proven track record of winning new business
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Experience managing a sales pipeline and achieving ambitious targets
- Excellent relationship-building and presentation skills
- The ability to work independently across a large geographical territory
- Experience within logistics, supply chain, FMCG, or retail would be highly advantageous
Territory
This role covers the North of England, with regular travel across the region. As a field-based position, flexibility to travel and visit customer sites is essential.
