Manufacturer of Lighting and Lighting Controls

BDM- Commercial Projects
Location: London, M25 and surrounding area
Salary: Package of £60-70k basic + £6k Car Allowance + uncapped bonus

The Role

Working in and around the M25 and London, you will spend your time identifying and winning project specifications with M&E Consultants and managing the design, delivery, and installation of those lighting projects with Main and M&E Contractors in your region. You will be selling a range of lighting products and lighting controls which can be stand alone or part of an integrated BMS system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Candidates with a technical bias, ability to interpret technical plans and drawings, and communicate with design and project engineers will have an advantage.
  • You will be looking to secure and manage projects within the Commercial and Public sector and aim to win new business in your region.
  • The position will require you to demonstrate your understanding of CPD presentations, tendering, and project management as well as strong relationship building at all levels of the sales cycle.
  • Key to success in this role is a proven track record of consultative selling within lighting and strong technical/electrical understanding.

Requirements:

  • Candidates need to be driven to win new projects and gain market share in this region.

Established in Scandinavia with a global presence and strong UK turnover, this is a growing manufacturer of lighting solutions. They are well known within lighting controls and wireless solutions so this will be a large part of their offering.

Qualifications

  • 2 years or more working in field sales within lighting or controls.
  • Understanding of M&E Contractors - could have sold to them or worked for them in a commercial or technical role.
  • Ability to win and manage a pipeline of short and long-term projects.
  • A consultative, driven, and professional salesperson with good attention to detail.
  • Understanding of electrical or technical drawings/technical aptitude is desirable but not essential.
