About the Role
An exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales professional to join a growing organisation operating within the environmental services sector. The role is focused on developing business with both existing and prospective customers, primarily across public sector organisations, including local authorities.

Our client is a well-established and respected organisation providing essential services that support environmental sustainability, waste management, and recycling initiatives. They work closely with public sector customers to deliver practical solutions that contribute to cleaner and more sustainable communities.
Description
The Business Development Manager will:
- Manage and grow relationships with existing customers.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Develop opportunities within local authorities and public sector organisations.
- Deliver against agreed team sales targets and objectives.
- Manage the full sales process from initial contact through to order completion.
- Build long-term partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Provide market feedback and contribute to business growth strategies.
- Increase revenue through new and existing customer activity.
- Develop a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Maintain regular engagement with key customer accounts.
- Support the continued growth of the organisation within its target markets.
- Represent the business professionally at meetings and industry events.

Profile
Open to candidates from a wide range of industry backgrounds. Sector experience is less important than the ability to demonstrate consistent sales success.
The ideal Business Development Manager will have:
- A proven history of delivering sales results.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Confidence engaging with a variety of stakeholders.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach.
- The ability to identify opportunities and convert them into profitable business.
- A track record of growing revenue through either existing accounts, new business development, or both.
- Experience managing both existing accounts and new business activity.
- Strong commercial and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage opportunities through a structured sales process.
- Must be commutable to Rotherham.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid environment, with three days in the office and two from home.

Job Offer
- Salary: Competitive
- Benefits: Comprehensive package available plus flexible hybrid working arrangements.
- Performance bonus of up to £15,000.
- Existing account stack given which consists of existing contracts, accounts spending regularly and ones to be be further developed
- Company car provided.
- Must be commutable to Rotherham.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid environment, with three days in the office and two from home.
